Spirit and Life- John 6:63

Ahh, what can I say about life in Akron? First off, everything is in walking distance. And even those things that aren't, we still walk to them. The other night we (20 of us) walked to Rita's. Not realizing it was mostly highway and no street lights, I went along even though I didn't want any water ice. It took about half an hour both ways. Nevertheless, it was entertaining. Yesterday we were wiser and decided to walk three blocks down the road instead to Turkey Hill to get some ice cream. Mmm got to love me some moose tracks.
I have been learning a lot and really feelings God's peace. He reveals so many new things to me everyday and even though I am anxious and nervous I know He is with me and I can see Him in the eyes of the people I am doing orientation with. One of our trainers was talking about how North American SALTers and international IVEPers always have such different concepts when it comes to service. SALTers depend on themselves and see themselves as the "savior" while IVEPers depend on God. Very different. Very intriguing.
Well, I need to cut this short but one thing I want to do that I thought sounded corny and fun was happys and crappys (cheers and jeers anyone?)

Happys:
-ate ice cream with Kyle last night while taking a walk in around town
-layed on the grass and stared up at the stars
-Josh's birthday!
-so much laughter and ridiculous people fills the rooms of this place
-Grace's book

Crappys:
-lack of sleep
-no wireless in my house (other houses do have it)
-uncertainty of future

peace,
Arelis
